Job Description
General Summary of Position Responsibility:
The Manager - Epic Core Services & Integration at this nationally ranked pediatrics hospital is responsible for the oversight of the analysis, design, development, conversion, implementation and management of all Epic environments including the Cache database, Clarity and Star infrastructure and services. Management of all interface services and infrastructure including all non-Epic interface needs is a responsibility of this position. This position manages the release, change control and deployment teams and activities. This position sets Key Performance Metrics for Epic and has oversight, including the performance and operational management of the Epic ecosystem, working with the IM Applications and IT Operations teams to ensure stability, security and scalability.

Essential Job Functions:
Area Specific Job Accountabilities:
1. Manages, assigns and directs the activities of the Epic infrastructure engineers, environment specialists, interface specialists, data services specialists (Clarity and Star) programmers and change management teams.
2. Work with organization's departments to develop requirements, design, plan, and deliver Epic and integration solutions that enable organizational strategic and tactical goals.
3. Provide program and project management for Epic Core Services and Integration projects, including Clarity and Star data analytics.
4. Develops roadmap for application selection, system development, system maintenance, production activities and necessary support resources.
5. Schedules and coordinates Epic system downtimes including Epic infrastructure updates and maintenance.
6. Oversees data imports/exports for Epic including automated FTP processes for internal and external partners.
7. Monitors and controls change management process (emergent changes, Epic SU and security fixes, Epic release packages) to ensure quality is maintained.
8. Responds to audit requests related to security/access, change authorization, data management.
9. Maintain release and deployment schedule, including coordination of resources, quality assurance and scope.
10. Monitors environments and makes suggestions for improvements to application, infrastructure and integration.
11. Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in technology or related IM expertise.
2. 5+ years of team leadership and/or management experience in a complex IM environment. Healthcare IM experience a plus.
3. 5+ years' experience with Epic system and infrastructure or similar EMR applications desired.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex IM projects on time and within budget.
5. Exceptional customer facing skills
6. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a strategic roadmap
7. Good familiarity with Microsoft Office and Project Server.
8. Goal oriented with the ability to independently achieve desired results utilizing both internal and external resources.
