Data Architect

Client seeks a Data Architect who will be primarily responsible for advancing the role of data architecture and governance within the enterprise. The Data Architect shall guide the efforts of developers, and business intelligence analysts within the organization in the development of conceptual, logical and physical business data models, and design and implementation of data warehouse subject areas.
The Data Architect Consultant will join a cross-functional team of diverse staff working with IT staff, assorted project delivery staff, business intelligence analysts and a team of offshore developers.
A positive outcome for this position is the design of optimized data models, flows and warehouses.
This position exists to deliver high quality, accurate data for staff and the global organization for analysis and intelligent business decision making.
The Consultant in this position must work independently, setting goals and deadlines to achieve the necessary goals of the position. With minimal direction the architect must understand and provide council on optimized application and data architectures.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Five or more years of progressive related work experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support.
Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
Demonstrated expertise with repository creation, and data and information system life cycle methodologies.
Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, and so on.
Understanding of Web services (SOAP, XML, UDDI, WSDL) and Object Oriented programming experience (.Net, Java etc).
Relational model design. Dimensional modeling. ETL processes.
Data warehousing and decision support tools and techniques. Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work independently and perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks effectively.
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong team player, self-motivated and detailed oriented individual. Strong problem-solving skills.

: Logical Business Modeling: function as the business modeler/data analyst for data projects and initiatives, creating logical business models that are used to generate physical data models and database schema.
: Metadata Management: create and maintain metadata management capability to integrate data dictionaries with the enterprise business glossary.
: Data Warehouse Design: function as the lead analyst for data warehousing and master data management projects and initiatives, identifying source systems and mapping them to the enterprise model to support data integration.
: Project Coordination: function as the project manager, coordinator, researcher or lead employee for data projects in support of Rotary initiatives.
: Improving Effectiveness: suggest and implement process changes to improve the overall data management effectiveness of Rotary International.
: Evaluating Projects: review data architecture of projects, monitor outcomes and make recommendations.
: Carrying Out Research: perform directed and independent research on various data management subjects and submit summaries and recommendations.
