Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Life/DI Products and New Business and Underwriting knowledge. In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the technical product vision/ direction and identifying new product opportunities. The candidate will be responsible for learning and advocating for emerging trends and partnering with vendors to ensure effective design and flawless execution of projects and initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drives technical product vision and direction. Identifies new product opportunities, works with stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and determines the ones worthy of business and technology investment. Understands emerging tech trends, sees how they impact technical roadmap, and how they drive innovation
Possesses deep industry understanding and positioning of the technologies within the product in the industry in order to effectively make decisions on product usage and investment
Identifies technical needs for the Product, which includes integration needs between technologies that may reside across multiple products
Defines the product strategy and roadmap, and ensures that there is alignment with the overall Enterprise Architecture
Understands and proactively asses the current state of the product, and identifies gaps and overlaps. collaborate with Problem and Incident Management
Maintains financial accountability within product suite
Works with business and technology stakeholders, identifies and builds a prioritization framework to evaluate competing priorities and facilitates prioritization conversations. Works with partners, builds a 2-3 year product roadmap and manages technical product backlog
Accountable for managing projected cost of an initiative vs actual spend of work-cell(s)
Collaborates within and across CIO channels to identify delivery efficiencies
Provides information to business partners about product line improvement opportunities and collaborates with them to drive down costs and support capabilities
Conducts regular performance reviews with providers
Facilitates vendor management operational oversight
Oversees vendor activities and bridges the relationship between vendor and team
Monitors vendor relationship in order to mitigate potential risks before they occur and/or address issues as they occur
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

College Degree required.
Self-driven, energetic leader who operates with clear vision, and transparency.
Excellent presentation, influencing and reasoning skills.
Experience managing business engagements, starting with building strong relationships with the various business leads and balancing a wide variety of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
Proven ability to promote ideas and proposals persuasively, shape stakeholders' opinions, project a positive image, work through conflicts and negotiate win/win solutions.
Proven ability to apply financial insights and draw accurate conclusions from financial and other quantitative information.
Must be willing to learn both new and legacy technology(e.g. Mainframe)
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team-based environment including employees, vendors, and third party contractors.
Proven ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to less experienced team members.
Enjoy working in an agile environment and collaborating with the team to solve technical challenges
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a rapid and iterative development environment
Superior communication skills with the ability to work directly with business partners
Strong understanding and adherence to IT SDLC and operational best practices.
Ability to travel and work under periods of stress.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or business related field preferred.
2+ years of vendor management experience.
Knowledge and experience with batch job scheduling (TWS/Maestro), orchestration, and secure file transfer (MFT), XML and XML concepts (schemas, XSD, XSLT), DB2/SQL/Oracle query and query writing practices preferred.
